Identification Of Security Agencies And Their Duties
Security agencies help keep us safe and ensure that laws are followed. Below are important security agencies in Nigeria and what they do:
- The Nigeria Police Force: Maintains law and order, prevents and detects crime, and protects lives and property.
- The Nigeria Army: Defends the country from external aggression, supports civil authorities in times of emergency, and ensures national security.
- The Nigeria Navy: Protects Nigeria’s waterways, prevents smuggling and illegal fishing, and conducts search and rescue operations.
- The Nigeria Air Force: Defends Nigeria’s airspace, conducts aerial surveillance, and provides air support during military operations.
- The Department of State Services (DSS): Gathers intelligence, prevents espionage, and protects government officials and infrastructure.
